*Grand Street Community Arts* is a rising neighborhood-based non-profit arts
organization. GSCA is currently restoring the former St. Anthony’s church,
an abandoned 19th century catholic church for use as a flexible performance,
exhibition, and multi-use space. GSCA seeks to foster unity and connection
through the arts in an inner-city neighborhood with racial and economic
diversity.

GSCA has hosted a number of art exhibitions including: vestuary operatics- a
one-weekend-only site-specific installation and performance involving 20
prominent local visual and performing artists and BoardedUP- a six month
street-level exhibition of new works from 40 area artists. GSCA seeks to
expand it’s events and program offerings in 2009 and currently offers the
following programs for area youth:
*YouthFX*- a free summer film program featuring technical training,
internships with film industry professionals, and self expression exercises.

*YouthORGANICS!(YO!)* – a garden project engaging and partnering with youth
through skills and trainings in sustainable agriculture and community
organizing.
*Grand Street KidsCAMP* – a free summer art camp for neighborhood youth.

GSCA seeks independent, qualified, and creative candidates for the following
positions:
(NOTE: Both of these positions are funded through a partnerships with a
local AmeriCorps program and feature a modest living allowance and a lump
sum education award. The commitment is for 20 hours a week from October
through August, 2009. GSCA recognizes that most candidates will need a
second source of income.)

*Development Associate (20 hours/week)*

The development associate will pursue grants and other fund raising
opportunities for GSCA’s existing and emerging program offerings, working
with the organization’s existing staff. The development associate will reach
out to local arts organizations and non-profits with complimentary missions
and explore opportunities for collaboration and strategic partnerships. The
Development Associate will also have the opportunity to develop new GSCA
programs, events, and projects.

The ideal candidate will have:

* strong verbal and written communication skills.
* at least 2 years experience in one of the following areas: development,
grant writing, or non-profit administration.
* an innovative and proactive approach to strategic partnerships and
collaboration with other organizations.

During the summer months the development associate will take a more active
role and directly support one or more of GSCA’s youth programs.

*Outreach Coordinator (20 hours/week)*

The outreach coordinator will be a key resource in providing organizational
support to GSCA’s core summer programs: YouthFX, YouthORGANICS, and
kidsCAMP. During the summer months the outreach coordinator will take a more
active role and directly support one or more of the programs, on-site in
their work with youth. The outreach coordinator will also work with the
executive director and other GSCA staff to develop press releases,
promotional materials, and maintain print and e-mail campaigns and
newsletters.

The ideal candidate will be skilled in several of the following areas:
